Day 16: Roxanne has left the House

In a brief statement issued this morning, Big Brother bosses revealed that soap star Roxanne has quit the show. A Celebrity Big Brother spokesperson said: "Roxanne has decided to leave the BB House." They added: "The remaining housemates have been informed." It follows a lot of drama in the house between Roxanne and her fellow housemates. Things kicked off after a controversial 'altercation' between Roxanne and Ryan in Thursday night's show show. Ryan was given a warning by Big Brother for 'unwanted physical contact' after Roxanne complained that he had been 'violent' towards her. She claimed in the Diary Room: "I'm just a little bit in shock. I went from being upset to angry now. He actually punched me like a boxer would punch a bag. It wasn't banter, it wasn't a joke." However the vast majority of viewers felt Roxanne overreacted to Ryan's play fighting, with many even calling for her to be removed from the house. The outrage aimed at Roxanne continued during Friday's episode, where she doubled down on her claims and branded Ryan 'aggressive' and accused him of 'assaulting' her. She told Big Brother in the Diary Room that Ryan's warning was "not good enough", as she explained: "I don't feel very comfortable or happy at the moment because I slept separately last night because I felt uncomfortable because Ryan assaulted me and is still here." Later, Ryan and Roxanne had tried to clear the air, with Ryan telling her: "I promise you've got it wrong. Let's put it to bed." Roxanne's departure also follows Ben's eviction in last night's live show. |
