Kirstie has been named the President of the House in the first twist of Celebrity Big Brother Summer 2018, with viewers electing Ryan as her Vice President.

Kirstie was the first housemate to enter the Eye of the Storm house during the live launch show – and as soon as she was through the door, Big Brother called her to the Diary Room.

There, the eye explained that she wasn't just the first lady, but the new President of the House, a role that would grant her special "powers and privileges".

Show fans would vote in an ‘election' to decide her deputy – and to help them make a decision, she had to ask the other housemates probing questions as they entered the house, while keeping her new status secret.

Once the other twelve celebs – including footballer Jermaine and actress Roxanne – arrived, Big Brother gathered them around the dining table and revealed the truth about Kirstie's role.

They were instructed to enter the garden, and found that the pink pool room had been transformed in to a replica of the White House, complete with columns and a presidential lectern.

During a commercial break, viewers were able to vote for who they wanted to aid Kirstie in a flash poll on the official CBB website and app. Moments later, Big Brother revealed the results in the garden.

"Big Brother's independent adjudicators have confirmed that it was a fair election, with no interference from external forces," he joked.

Ryan was confirmed as Vice President, with the other housemates applauding him as he joined Kirstie at the lectern.

"Congratulations Ryan. You and President Kirstie will have many decisions to make over the coming days, so unite and conquer as you reign supreme over the Big Brother house," Big Brother teased.

"We'll be fair," Kirstie pledged. "I think we're gonna be slaves by tomorrow!"

Kirstie and Ryan will reside in the White House until further notice. It is unclear if their power will affect the first round of nominations.
