After 18 days in the house, our ex-schoolteacher, full time adult entertainer and some-time niche humanitarian has been released back onto the streets after losing the public vote to Lauren.

It's been a whirlwind of a time for Benedict (known as Johnny Anglais when working in the adult industry). He charmed the ladies on launch night and became quite close to bailiff Chris in the first few days. Then later, after Chris was evicted, he became quite close to characters like Lydia - who tried her damnedest to involve him in her plotting - and also to Lauren, his rival in this week’s eviction contest.

Lest we forget, Benedict also became embroiled in one of the high/lowlights of this year's series so far, being so open about his bathroom habits that he invited scorn and backstabbing from several other housemates. His fight-back against the whispering campaign provided some thoroughly entertaining television and led to sour relations with people like Caroline. The aftermath led to further arguments and moments of TV gold that continued to build momentum until the two finally made peace on Day 17. However, what many of the housemates didn’t know is that he was the secret saboteur responsible for spiking Luke S's protein powder with curry and rearranging the kitchen cupboards. What a scamp. On exit he owned up, leaving a livid Luke S.

From charmer to moral mouthpiece, via long and intense intellectual conversations in the hot tub, Benedict has been a fantastic Big Brother contestant. We wish him all the best when he returns to the wider world.
